As a Life Coach, my job is to help you move forward from the present to a better place in the future. Now that sounds really vague, so let me move it down a few thousand feet.
Firstly, you will come along to your coaching sessions with a specific objective in mind. I call this your mountain.
That mountain could be a problem in an important relationship - such as with your wife, teenager or your boss. That mountain could be a goal you want to achieve with your career or your small business. Or it could be about progress you want to make with your walk with God. What ever it is, if it is important to you, then I will help you to get it done.
Next we identify as many key factors that influence and are influenced by your mountain. This is an important step that makes sure you count the cost of moving forward. Then we examine your vision for your mountain. Things like what it will look like when you get there, who will it impact, and what will be different in your life once you do?
No vision is anything but a dream without a workable strategy to get you moving and keep you on track to the top of your mountain. This is an exciting stage as we together work out the options you have, the best way forward and prepare you to overcome the discouraging obstacles along the way.
But my coaching doesn't stop there ... I help pick you up when you get knocked down, motivate you to keep pressing on, hold you accountable to what you say, work through with you how your faith is interacting with your mountain and be your climbing buddy until your mountain is conquered.
Most coaching centers around you having all the answers, but as a Christian coach, we draw upon a third person - the Holy Spirit - to guide the coaching. This makes the coaching oh so much more effective and provides you the assurance that you will get on and stay on the right track.
Overall, my job is help you close the gap from where you are now to where you want to be - and to do so much more rapidly than you can do on your own.
I very much look forward to helping you climb your mountain.
What mountain can I help you climb today?
